I just scored the one on eBay. For such a rare bird in excellent condition I'm surprised that there wasn't more interest in it. I have a 650S at home and it's one of my favorites. I'm hoping that the frisco will play and sound just as good! I'm so psyched!

Frisco's are rare ones indeed !! Congratulations and we look forward to seeing some pictures. These 650's are cool guitars -- I have a 650 Atlantis.

Oh, I thought this was going to be a thread about how hot the temperature is.

It came yesterday and is gorgeous! It plays wonderfully and was well cared for. I was wondering - what is the difference between the 650E and 650F? Was the Excalibur model for export to the UK?

We had a conflict regarding the trademark on the name "Excalibur". We owned the "Paris Septie" rights, whereas Patrice Vigier in France had "Madrid Protocol" rights. It was disruptive to both of us. As we weren't particularly attached to the name anyway, rather than litigate, we sold the name to them, recouping our investment in it and solving their problem, e.g. access to North America and the U.K. It was always the odd man out, so to speak, as the rest of our instruments are named after places or regions.
Frisco, by the way, is referring to the renowned skiing town in Colorado, not San Francisco.
