Okay! I can now afford a RIC 360 6, which is used! And my mom seems very happy about it and it looks like I should get it. Is good to start with a 360? PS I've tried one!

If you like it, then get it. If you can't buy it immediately, maybe you can put a down payment on it to hold it. You will be heartbroken if you return to buy it and it had already been sold.

I think that a 360/6 is an excellent choice. It's so much cooler than a 330, which is what I hastily bought. So, I think a 360/6 would be a good one to start with, and it will keep you happy for years to come.

Glad to hear that you have taken your time, saved and now can purchase a real Rickenbacker. A 360/6 will be perfect as your first Rickenbacker guitar, but please make sure that the guitar is in perfect working order before you hand over any money. I understand it has not been that easy for you to find Rickenbacker's in your location, but please make sure you get a good guitar then you will have no regrets. It's been a while since we have heard from you, I hope that you are still taking guitar and music lessons, if you buy a 360/6 it will give you some extra enthusiasm to play and practise more, this is a good thing! A 360/6 has a fantastic sound you will be so happy when you play and hear your first chord, a 360 looks good and will definitely have a great tone, but the rest is all up to how you play it, if your serious about music and guitar, lessons and study are the essential ingredients and need to be attended weekly for many years, as well as daily practice need to be done. I agree with Max, a 360 will keep you happy for years, look after it and learn how to maintain it correctly, seek advice from a guitar tech, and this forum and you will be playing it for decades. LOL if you sell this Ric when your much older if it is in good condition it will be worth a considerable amount of money too! But I would still prefer you to play it for at least a few decades first, you have the luxury of time at this stage, use it wisely, and good luck and good to hear from you again. Also I think that a 6 stringer is what you need as your first quality electric, the string changes will be a lot easier for you to attended to and you will be able to cover more material than with a 12 string

I finally made some money, and deciding to buy a Rickenbacker 360. But now my mom is starting hesitate.... :/ yeah well that's pretty much my word this morning.

Check out the 330, but I am a huge fan of the 620 and 620/12. The 620/12 is around the same price range as the 360, and you may prefer it.

Hi Lassiebacker and a happy new year to you too, I suppose you are on holidays and getting lots of guitar playing done, oh yeah, I watched your YouTube videos with covers, I was very very impressed. I'm sure many of our Beatles fans and forum members would be very surprised to see how well you play the Beatles songs, you cover the Beatles like a rash, in a good way. Some of those songs are very fast and you managed to keep tempo. If you did them solo you could just play them a bit slower, but I was impressed with your playing, your left hand technique is progressing very well, and you can get your chord changes efficiently. both hand techniques are fairly well balanced. You have fun playing, all the practice is paying off and your teacher would be pleased. You have talent and your young you should continue making the most of it. When I started playing at age 7 my parents told me only if I practiced would they pay for lessons, they never mentioned the word practice ever again, they could not get the guitar out of my hands, in fact I was 15 and they where still paying for lessons as I played guitar and flute. Eventually I continued and payed for my own lessons. My parents spent a small fortune as I had 1000's of dollars worth of lessons, but still I was 21 before I could afford to buy a good quality guitar. Prior to turning 21 many of my friends some of whom I gave lesson to had much better guitars than I , way better electric and acoustics, I was somewhat jealous .I eventually realized that my playing ability was much more valuable than their guitars. My envy of their expensive instruments soon faded, not so my desire to play that remains unchanged 4 decade later. I have a number of good instruments now.

Your Mother gives you the best advice, it is wise to be hesitant when purchasing anything, Your very lucky I can tell from your playing abilities that you have been provided lessons for some time now, these lessons are the ingredients that have
provided your current level of playing, please continue with these lessons. Yes I can tell you certainly do practice, and attend music lessons, your dedication is evident, it's all so simple really, just take lessons practice and don't stop. At least your Mum is not wasting money on you, as I can tell you do have natural aptitude and you do your practice and study, your a good lad for that! I wish all my past students would have applied themselves to practice in the way you have, it's really the dedication and enthusiasm that makes all the difference, so you are progressing well.

Normally I would not recommend any electric guitar of considerable value to a young student as I believe there are more important things to spend money on.
The more expensive guitar would come later after a student has reached a certain level of playing and shown dedication to learning and practise for a few more years , then a higher quality instrument would be beneficial and serve it's purpose being played by someone with acquired skills. Lassiebacker, initially I had my doubts as to whether it was a good idea for you to purchase a expensive guitar as a student. However I have reconsidered and after hearing you vid, changed my doubt into something positive!

Although you are young and and student you have spent many hours practising to be able to get the Beatles songs in your repertoire, as you are so interested in the Beatles music, and you are dedicated, I do believe that in your particular circumstances a Rickenbacker 360/6 maybe well worth the money! I believe your worth it Kid. If your parents did buy you a RIC, which will not be cheap and also you will pay some post cost, but I believe that it would be a good investment in your playing. Again it is only because you are such a Beatles fan, and are dedicated to playing their songs that this Rickenbacker would be warranted! Normally a student doesn't own a Ric, but OK in your particular circumstance, it would be very cool , you are a bonafide Beatles player and play in a band.

Yes, you do deserve a Ric, but your going to have to stay just as dedicated all your life if you want to be real master, but for the moment you are progressing very well
Your parents should be pleased with your progress, your a good act, and keep up the singing, you can sing well. Please consider taking singing lessons, singing lessons are fun and your voice will improve even after a short time, and if you do vocal practise just like you practise guitar,,,,,,you will have a really good voice Remember, to concentrate and remain focus during any performance. You do play many other songs as well as Beatles ?

Thank you for all the support, in fact the webcam on my MacBook Pro makes me left handed. I started playing guitar about 2 years ago and I were intermediate after a half year. I started on guitar lessons a year ago now and it has improved even more. Theres a talent show coming up in three weeks and it's first local, then the whole province gather from the local who comes further. Unfortunately in 2011 me and my mate didn't get further than local...

Vocal practise would have been something if that offer was here in Karasjok. I will keep everything you've said in my mind, I've started playing something else than beatles too. But now school starts and thanks for all the support!

I wish you luck at school and yes it is very important to do well there. I really hope you do get a Ric, now I truly understand why you want a Rickenbacker, so badly, I can understand where your coming from! You play the Beatles song so well and you do know quite a few songs, you would make the Ric sound very good. Congratulations on your YouTube videos
one day it will be a Rickenbacker in your videos and it will sound even closer to the Beatles sound. But sofar you have done very well to have learnt your current repertoire, just keep at it

There must be someone to help you with voice to give you lessons, seek them out. In the mean time log on to free singing tips ( Brian Gilbertson) Goggle and go from there, the tips are free with no obligations. It's tips for all styles of singing. don't worry your not going to sound like an opera singer after reading these tips. However they will be beneficial to make it easier for you to sing and get the best out of your voice in a natural way. I still hope you can find a singing teacher for personal lessons. It's good to know your singing as well as playing, keep it up. Get the singing lessons as well as the guitar lessons, and you will be set! Look at how much you have improved in the last 2 years. When you get your hands on a Ric you will love it as it is the perfect guitar for all your Beatles covers. I understand why Lassiebacker wants a Rickenbacker, so badly!
