Well, one cannot say, "Rickenbackers have always been made the same" because they haven't, but the formula is the same.
One can with respect to quality.

Update... On friday, I had a gig, and during the soundchecks I dropped my Ric on the floor... It chipped a piece of the pickguard and gave a little mark on the side. Should I check anything else or what so ever?

If it plays OK don't be too concern. Did the guitar strap come loose?? If so do get Dunlop ergo strap locks, and use them. They're cheap and only made of plastic but I use them all the time, They will fit a Rickenbacker.

Yeah, it plays and I played it immediately after, on the concert. The strap did twist and got upside down.... I was wondering of getting the schaller straplocks and a ric strap for it.. but I'm just to lazy to order :p
