Lassiebacker,,,,,,,the Fifth knob, allows you to blend the pickups, so you can have more or less of one pickup. Left in the top middle position'' both'' pickup are engaged equally, OK if you turn the 5th knob left or right then you get more of '' one'' pickup than the other

Note the pickup selector must be in the middle position so both pickups are engaged for the 5th knob to work correctly. Great to hear that axe looks almost brand new and it's all perfect, don't worry about the case. Do make sure the case is secure to hold and transport that beautiful guitar though

To use the ROS correctly, you need the right gear, stereo cable, stereo y cable, or stereo splitter box, 2 amps, and a loop hum eliminator, and money to burn on tubes!
Just play in Mono using the mono jack.

Lassiebacker, congrats on a great guitar.

Some call the fifth knob "a second volume knob for your neck pickup." It acts as a balancing knob between the two pickups somewhat, while still not being a true blender knob. When not using ROS, if you have both of your pickups volume knobs dimed, then adjusting the fifth knob is for balancing them out and achieving the same volume out of both (so one doesn't blow the other away when switching between p'ups). Or, alternatively, you could intentionally make one pickup louder than the other (that way, a flick of the switch gives you a volume boost or cut). So, with both p'up volume knobs dimed, and the fifth knob all the way up, the neck will be much louder than the bridge, but if the fifth knob is all the way down, the bridge will be much louder than the neck. This can be used in the middle position, too, to get more sound out of one p'up than the other. When using ROS, this is also true, except now it's an issue of which separate amp/channel is louder, since ROS splits the p'ups to two different amps/channels.

There are like four ways to use it described in the owner's manual (including ROS), which you should read, but they are all rooted in this basic concept.

Hey KidRic~ How are you going with the new guitar, I hope you have worked out how to use the 5th knob by now! It's hard to explain, we all did try!

I'd say honeymoon period but your too young.

Will be looking forward to your next music video when you get time. I'm sure your improving all the time and now with this new guitar it will accelerate your progress. Yes we were all so happy when you got that guitar, you were persistent, it paid off! Make sure you read up on string changes and general care, it is a beaut guitar I've seen some photos, it's worthwhile really taking care of it. If you need advice well you only need ask on the forum.

It is great, no words can explain the greatness! But the first concert with the Ric went to hell... Really. As usually we use a machine comp. (drums and bass) pre recorded on my mac. First my voice pitched up to heaven, few mistakes on Twist and shout and keep on straight with the comp did not go well... Ticket to ride was better. less mistakes.
Now I am looking after a better amp, rather than the samll 10watter with 6,5" speaker. A Vox would have been nice, but then which one... I've stumbled over vintage Voxes on the Swedish, Norwegian and Danish online used marked and one at eBay. Vox Supreme, Vox AC30TB reissue, Vox AC50 vintage, Vox dynamic bass... In my price range! Feel like in heaven!

UKM (Youth Culture Exhibition) the talent show coming up on friday, looking forward with a program that tight now. Church stuff, practice each day of this week for the show. What makes the show on friday more intresting is that "Norway got talent" judges come to see the show! They are talent spotters, and will take out a few talents to audition to Oslo. I am planning to do a video soon when I get some spare time!

Darn that loving Rickenbacker sound! <3

Well, there are many good amps in lower price ranges, but all the depends on if you can actually play.

Are you seriously kidding me? "If I can actually play." Like an insult. It may be a coincidence that I get to buy a class A instrument at so low age. But I want to nail that Beatles sound! Those amp's what I've found are at the same price range of a VOX AC30. I just can't manage to get a small, low power amp.

AGNOP, you must be joking on that comment, he can actually play very well!
A Rickenbacker is an expensive guitar, he owns one! He deserves it, his playing level and the style of music he plays, accomidates the Ric well. He puts in a lot of effort, and it gaining experience all the time. He is gaining all types of experience, playing with a band , doing solo videos, learning music, he's actually very dedicated!

Lassiebacker, your a busy man! With all those Musical engagements no wonder we have not heard from you. Glad to know all is well with the guitar. Glad to hear your singing as well as playing. Just keep doing what you are doing, stay focused, keep at it, look after your health. Most importantly never worry about what other say if it appears negative .

Save up and get the amp you want, yes maybe a Vox for you. I still prefer Fender (but that's just me) I use other amps a well. OK KidRic, sound like all is well, ah don't worry about a few mistakes. If your voice is pitching high that means, you have to relax and breathe fully.( singing lessons are what would really help) Before you start to sing imagine that your floating, and you can breath from your whole body, not just your mouth. Relax your stomach so air can fill yout lungs. Pretend you listening to a really boring teacher, and take a breathe

The ''Whatever'' breath,,,you know the one you took straight after you read what ''AGNOP'' said ( if you can actually play)................hehehehehe, That's the breathe you need to start singing!

lassiebacker - Yes, he was kidding you! (And I didn't even need the "winking" smilie to know this; sort of means, "I'm just kidding you." He and I have the same finely tuned sense of humor that only a minority of people can appreciate. And we both buy gear that we are not worthy of. )

Anyway, most of us here didn't know what happened to you. I thought maybe you had to return the guitar for some reason! We're looking forward to that video.
