Hi Lassiebacker. OK glad that handle turned up. Can we get a photo of the new handle??.
i'm not sure you can get it on yourself, it maybe a job for a case/luggage repairer
We shall see!

Hi there,

I purchased my first Ric it was the 360/6. As I also do a lot of George's solos I also purchased a Gretsch country gentleman that George used on a lot of his solos, and it is a perfect fit. And like you I think I'm ready for the Ric 12 now. But I was glad that I purchased the 360/6 first, as gave me the feel of it. Check out http://www.musiciansfriend.com they have great deals on Ric's. Best of luck.

Hi and welcome, Yes there was discussion on this particular thread re the 360/12
However unlike you it was Lassiebacker first (high quality electric guitar)
We talked him out of the 12 string and he got a six string, which he is so happy with. In your particular case you already own 2 good 6 strings so yes it' fine for you to get a 360/12. The only thing I can suggest is use the model search and look at all the 12 string Ric makes and compare them. But if it is a 360/12 you want, well jump on it! Best of luck to you.

The handle arrived. Next question.... How to get it on. It will replace the whole thingy on the case. but how??

As jbud said, it's probably time to find and go to someone who repairs luggage professionally. Most of the information I found on the Internet about replacing the handle described replacing the entire handle assembly, like you now have. To remove the old one (the base that is attached to the case with four rivets), "you" (someone) will have to lift out the interior moulding of the case -- the part that has recesses for the guitar, etc. (at least part way) to gain access to old rivets and to place new ones in. I don't know how difficult it will be to free up the side of that moulding adjacent to the handle -- it's probably glued in to some degree.... This will take some patience and skill not to damage that. Alternatively, someone (again, a luggage repair person) could simply remove only the new handle (the "grip") from your new handle assembly, and attach it to your "old" existing base, replacing only the broken part.... Find someone who might be able to do this. Ask questions. First, though, do a Google search and read up/see photos/watch videos of the repair so that you fully understand what needs to be done. With this preparation you will be able to seek out the proper person to repair this as well as have a meaningful conversation about the proposed work.

Comprehensive post Maxwell! You might be right, one way to repair this maybe to leave the existing base in position, and attach the new handle to it. In that case the pins have to be removed and new ones put on. I think this way will be easier than having to remove the base that holds the handle to the case and less expensive to repair.

I fairly sure to replace to complete assembly, will be the hard way!

Can't touch that one!

But yes I do believe it is best for lassiebacker to find a qualified person to fix the handle :D ;), so it is done properly.

I hope he finds someone close to his residence that doesnt charge too much.

Well worth it though. I know you treasure your guitars and keep them safe!
I listened to some of your music, I quite like your dialogue over the quirky guitar at the beginning it sounds like your using nylon string. But yes I like the words and the tone of your voice. Keep on experimenting and good luck.

Okay, now you guys are very off topic*haha* :D but! After I get my handle replaced, I need a reeeaaally nice sounding amp for the beauty!!! I was thinking of vintage VOX amps to get the REAL Beatles sound. I would rather get a Vox since I play the Beatles. But the other day I saw that JMI are reproducing the VOX AC100's, which are the rarest Vox amps after a Vox amp called UL7120. The repro's are called JMI 100 head and costs 1227pounds.... I really don't like the price, since I am very grinchy... Any suggestions?
