Oh, that's OK, Ain'tGotNoPokemon. The initial wave of distress has long passed. I may attempt to fix it myself; look for it in my "Twisted Neck" thread when it happens.

Anyway, this is lassiebacker's thread and I don't want to Shanghi it any further. My initial reply about this (when you were talking about buying used) was just some kidding on my part. I expounded on the topic only to put lassiebacker at ease, so that he would not worry.

Lassiebacker, I once had a Jetglo 360. I sold it last year, and soon found I had sold a piece of myself.

This year, I am determined to not spend any money on luxury items for myself; it's a sort of New Year's resolution. Accordingly, I think I will save some money to buy another 360. I have just paid off my 620/12, and have been searching for a hollowbody jazz guitar. Well, as it turns out, I remember playing that genre frequently on the 360.

I may change my mind, as I often do with guitars, but I think I can save enough funds to get a new 360. Perhaps in a different color time time? :) :D

Aintgotnopokemon: I'm sorry to hear about the 360.. I believe the 620 is good, if I am right ^^, my guitar is now in Oslo (capital of Norway) being evaluated for imports at customs. I live in the cold Karasjok of Northern Norway (-9,3 F / -23 C right now). I am going to play in a talent show on friday, HOPEFULLY it will be here by then. I've heard of something like "wait for 12-24 hours before you open your guitar after getting, may causing cracks on the finish" Is that so?
If it dosen't get here by friday, I have a concert again on febuary the 6th (Saami national day) then I'll use it!

This is always a good idea. I think this would be especially true where you are, where there could possibly be an 80 degree F. difference between outdoor & indoor temperatures. While some finishes (maybe the current RIC) are less susceptible to checking, at these temperatures I'd be very concerned, and concerned not only with the finish but perhaps the structure.... I would leave the guitar in its shipping box, and place it in room, making sure no heat source is next to it. Leave it alone for several hous. How long? An 80-degree change might need 12 hours or so; leave it for 24 if you want to be extra careful. American saying: "Haste makes waste."

*Shrugs* I opened both of mine as soon as I could get my hands on them.

I've lived in Georgia, and I still can remember checking the tire pressures on my car in November with sweat dripping into my eyes.... I don't think it ever got down to freezing when I was there for five years.... Any change there is is probably a cooling down (e.g., from 98 to 78), a lot different than warming up drastically. I don't anyone living in the Soutwest is too concerned about this either. ;)

I think you really have to allow a frozen guitar to warm up slowly/gradually.

The Artic Tundra can be a cruel place....

It was down to 26 degrees last Tuesday morning. :D Of course, Georgia also had a terrible snowstorm last year that kept everyone out of work and school for a while. We're not equipped for those sorts of things, but it seems to get colder each winter, and hotter each summer.

I remember when I bought my first Rickenbacker bass.

It was only about three years old. It looked exactly like the one Chris Squire uses and I only paid $550.00

While I do have a black one and a blue one now, I really miss that first one.

I envy you for the high of getting that first Rickenbacker baby in your hands.
