My names Jordan and I'm about to buy my dream guitar, a 330-12. been saving for a bit and there is one at a local guitar shop that had my name on it and no one in town ever shows it love, except for me. it's destiny!
anyway, I'm a huge fan of 60's music and my favorite band it Jefferson Airplane. I was watching a video on youtube (ill include a link) and i saw Paul playing, as usual, a 12 string ric. but this one was like one i never seen, being new to them I have no great knowledge of all the models.
the video is a bit grainy, but you can see ( 6:17 gives a good view of it ) piece of white pickguard and a little metal strip in between the pickups. It looks like a 360-12, but with this weird extension of pickguard.
I'm just curious about what model it is, thanks in advance.
That's a slot for an old converter-comb, but it looks like the comb itself isn't there. It came on some 12-string models which could be "converted" to sound like 6-string models by pulling the 6 high strings down and out of the way between the pickups so they wouldn't be strummed (or wouldn't sound when strummed).
a little more research reveals that about a year or 2 later he even removed the whole pickguard material in between the pick ups. this can be seen on his "famous" mapleglo with the black strips Ric. I wonder if he put the strips on to cover the holes because the tape covers all of the holes that would show from that whole converter attachment.
