Hello all, I am new to this board, and to the world of Ric guitars, but just got my first 360/6,and I was wondering if it is rare, and if I got a good deal. Its a White 1985 360 w/ a black pickguard, not a tuxedo because it has the standard triangle inlays. Its in surprisingly good shape, some minor dings but nothing really noticeable. I traded in an entry level american Tele ( a highway one series), an entry level Gibson les paul ( 60s series tribute) and a few minor guitars i.e. an epi, an Ibanez artcore, etc... I didnt mind the trade ins at all after playing my first Ric I knew I had to have one, just wondering if that was a good trade, and if white 360s are rare.

Thanks all

"Good trade" is all in the eye of the beholder, but I wouldn't worry about it now that it's a done deal and you can't go back even if you wanted to.

Just enjoy your Rick. It's what you wanted and it's what you got. I, too, am a 360 player, so I share in your enthusiasm.

And welcome to the Forum.

Welcome Matt84,

You absolutely traded up. Enjoy your Ric 360/6, I have one as well. Currently working on my 2nd Ric, waiting on a 360/12C63.

you'll adore that 360/12C63. I own one -Purchased it brand new. To me it's still "the definitive" Ric 12 banger. Amazing how Ric "got it right" with tee second prototype back in 1963.

I always tell everyone, bite the bullet and just order one. You'll always want one

Davcir,

Where did you purchase your 360/12C63 from and how long did you wait for it. Enjoy, I know I will.

Thanks all for the replies,

I didnt have much concern with the trade emotionally, because I had always wanted a Ric, it was that "some day" guitar, and then I walked into a small antique/music store in a very small town called Fairmont West Virginia, and saw that beauty hanging there. So I figured Id collected quite a few mid range guitars, might as well trade a few for my dream guitar, and the trade has been a no brainer since. I checked the serial number, its an 85, and had the original hardshell case. The 360 has also been a better fit for my playing style than any other guitar I own.

So thanks to everyone again, and Ill attach a pic of it below.

One good guitar with a beautiful voicing is worth more that ten that cannot sing!
One tends to always gravitate to their best guitars when they want to play, the others get left in the closet............... you did trade up!

Congratulations on your purchase.

sounds like you did get a good deal considering the color being pretty hard to find and rather pricey when you do. My wife would love it if I traded 4 of my guitars for 1

Congrats, and welcome to Ric 360-land! :) As for your question about the rarity of your 360's color - Rickenbacker did make a fair amount of white 330s and 360s, that had black hardware, from the mid 80s, till the early 90s. They were nowhere near as common as Jetglos, Fireglos, but they weren't to the best of my knowledge, very rare. Scott Sax, the singer for the band Wanderlust plays one.
