Curious if the 660 will have the new head stock? Although it has appointments not found on the standard Ric 12, it still isn't listed as vintage reissue or the like and it was my understanding only the vintage series guitars would not have the new 12 string headstock.

Yeah, that's a bit of a sticky wicket. We said the new head wouldn't be used on any vintage reissue for the sake of authenticity but of course there's no vintage precedent for the 660/12. However, I've always called it a "fantasy vintage" model, so one could argue it should be given vintage appointments.

I'll ponder this one over my spaghetti tonight.

No problem, John, just call it the 'FV' issue. Or the 'SV' issue, but this is highly dependent on what you have for dinner. As long as it isn't something like tuna, then it would be the 'TV' issue.

On the serious side, maybe if you put it in some form of text on the sight or whatever, saying the 660 is not included, well, at least you wouldn't have someone expecting to buy a new 660 with the new headstock.

I like 'FV' just as well.

I imagine there are times when being the CEO of RIC is not as pleasent as pondering headstock shapes.
After all, in this case, whatever you decide will be IT.

Designing must be much more fun than board meetings?

Sorry, I meant changes on your 'site' not your 'sight', as if you were dealing with an optometrist.

John,
Here's my 2 cents, for what it's worth. I think it should stay in the old style.

I hope that my next purchase is a 660/12 and I have 2 major reasons.
1. I like the string spacing
2. I love the vintage characteristics.
True that it's not "vintage" because of the new neck width, but toasters, checkerboard binding, and full width inlays definately give it the "vintage look". I would say that anything that goes this far with the vintage flavor should not be touched.

That said, the new headstock looks great and I can't wait to see one in person. Who knows, maybe it will be on my next 330/12.
