Hi all,

My first time here after just getting my new Rick 350v63 JG. I had a 320 JG I bought back in 1987, but had to sell that a few years back. I have loved these guitars since, like many others, I saw John's 325 on the Ed Sullivan show. I don't even remember being conscious of electric guitars before that, but that black Rickenbacker 325 was just the most badass thing I had ever seen in my life. I also like reading what other folks are playing. This is the rest of my stable and I can't even guarantee I will still have all of them by the time you read this post, LOL, but here goes.

1. Black ESP/LTD H1000 w/EMG 81/85 pups, my go-to metal guitar
2. Black Cherry quilt ESP/LTD MH-1000 w/ Seymour Duncan JB/59 pups (GREAT pups)
3. Black MIM Tele w/maple neck
4. Lake Placid Blue MIM HSS Strat w/maple neck
5. Black John 5 Squier Tele (has the Tele twang and the high gain scream in one guitar)
6. Rory Gallagher Relic Strat (made for me by Nick Sorenson at Rocketfire Guitars as I couldn't afford the 4K for the Fender CS Rory model)
7. Fender Deluxe Reverb reissue
8. Peavey XXL head w/Genz Benz G-Flex 2x12 (AWESOME) cab
9. Roland Cube 30 and Roland Micro Cube
10. Ibanez SRX500 (see-thru black flame top) and GSR200 (black)basses
11. SWR Workingman 10 bass amp
12. Penco acoustic with Seymour Duncan pup
13. Blackstar HI-DISTX pedal, Maxxon OD808, Boss Chorus and Boss tuner.
My biggest problem is that I can't decide whether I want to be Dave Mustaine, John Lennon, Johnny Cash or John Prine, LOL, and like some others have mentioned, my equipment long ago surpassed my actual level of talent. I used to play drums for many years as well, but that's another story. Thankfully I gave up the drums (though I still play occasionaly) as I could not imagine how much room 11 drum sets would take up. Anyway, I have enjoyed reading all your posts and love my new Rickenbacker 350v63. Take care all.

Bill

Apart from my hard-working Ric... my massive collection is pretty modest - a Martin DXME (the indestructible 'garden' guitar) and a DiPinto Mach IV bass - erm, that's it.
Amp-wise... always used Marshalls, my last being an MF350 4x12 half stack.

Cheers

I used to have seven guitars, but now, after selling two, I'm down to five. In addition to my Rickenbacker 330/12 I have a Stevie Ray Vaughan Signature Model Stratocaster, a beautiful Guild X-170 Manhattan archtop, and two acoustics: an Ovation Pinnacle and an Alvarez 12-string. As you would imagine, each of my three electrics gets a totally different sound. The SRV Strat is good for blues, the Guild gets a lovely jazz vibe, and (to state the obvious) the 330/12 is my jangle machine. I've used both acoustics for overdubs when I record with the 330/12. I'm down to one amp: a no frills solid state Fender Princeton Chorus, which sounds great direct with my X-170 (it's not much different from the Roland Jazz Chorus amps) and also gets some killer tones through my Boss GT-3 multi-effects unit (I've spent a long time tweaking the factory preset patches to suit my ears). I get most of my effects from the GT-3, but I also use a Dunlop Cry Baby 535Q wah pedal, which is very versatile, and just purchased a Jingleballs JB2, which I (and my 12-string) are very happy with. In the near future I may invest in a Fender Deluxe Players' Stratocaster and maybe a Fender Acoustasonic amp. Plus, our local Sam Ash has the most lovely Fireglow Rickenbacker 360/12 on the wall, but it's way out of my price range.
