I have accumulated many guitars in the last 3 decades and will need some time to put it on paper.

My concern is: where all these guitars will be when I will not be alive anymore? are you going to pick them Kez Korina?

Andreja,

If you want to make me sole heir to your collection, by all means put my name down on your last will and testament :-), I'm getting a little 'long in the tooth' myself, but I'm sure we have a few more guitars to collect and play yet! BTW just got a beautiful but inexpensive 2005 '98 style Flying V in natural mahogany and have my eyes on a 1988 SG Custom, it is going cheap.

It will be worth waiting to see your collection listed here, don't get writers cramp, bad for your guitar playing...

Cheers, Kez

Kez,
congrats on your latest addition to the collection.
You are invited to come and play my instruments anytime you want. For my Testament...well this another story.
I am sure that many people look to our passion as a waist of money or a investiment.
We don't think so!!!

We love guitars and collect them to play and look at them.

Long live rock and roll.
Andreja

I just have a few guitars.

Apart from a "clunker" classical Yamaha (from about 1979) and a "clunker" Japanese Epi 12 acoustic (from about 1976), I have:

A '73 Fender Tele Custom that I bought used in 1976. It's just a crude hunk of solid wood with a fat maple neck really, but with the humbucker and single coil both engaged it gives me such a great tone. And, I can always "twang" away on the bridge pickup by itself!

A Martin J-18 from 1985. I love the "breathy" and intimate sounds from the mahogany sides and back.

A 1985 American Standard Strat. You just have to have a "real" Strat, although you do have to search for a good one.

A 1986 American Standard P-Bass. I should've bought a Ric.

A 2004 Line 6 Variax 500. It's a nightmare from a purely aesthetic point of view, but the modelling is stunning and the versatility unmatched.

A 2006 360/12 VP FG. It's just beautiful and I'm mad at myself for waiting so long to get one.

My electric guitars are all by Rickenbacker, a 650A, a 650C, a 650D and a 325V59. If you have got a 650 and a 300 series RIC you do not need any other electic guitar by any other manufacturer in my opinion.

I also have an Ibanez AGB140 bass guitar. I will replace it with a Rickenbacker 4003 or 4004 when I have enough money to spare. (I am not a bass player so this can wait.)

I own a handmade classical guitar by Karl-Heinz Römmich, very fine instrument. It´s a shame that I have stopped playing classical guitar after finishing my music studies at the University of Cologne in 1998. But working as a teacher I do not have the time any more and - aside from playing the piano and the drums a little - I have decided to concentrate on the electric guitar which I love even more.

Last but not least there is a Yamaha APX steel-string acoustic guitar that I use in school to accompany my students when they are singing. Yamaha makes great products that just work. Every item they produce is great value for money. I also love my Yamaha drum kit.

Paul, very nice collection. Amazing in fact.

Where did you pick up the Charanga? I haven't seen one of those since I was in Chile. There's a band there called Illapu that played the heck out of one. It sounded amazing.

Ok, my gear:

Rickenbacker 650 S
Bernd Martin (Not martin guitars, Bernd Martin - German luthier) Concert Classical Nylon string
Boss EQ-20
Mesa-Boogie F-50 combo

That's it... Pretty simple setup, but I guess that I don't need much more. This gear pretty much covers all ground I want to. With the versatility of the 650 and the F-50 I get everything I need (+ more). The EQ lets me shape the tone precisely. I'm kind of a purist, so there are no FX. The classical is for my classical playing.

P.S. Whenever I get GAS, I just take some antacid...
