Hello,

Don't know if anybody out there can help me with this.
I have a August 1989 built Red 360WB, with the white binding to both sides of the body, the suond hole slit and the neck. It's only been gigged a couple of times and spent most of it's life under the bed in it's box, so it's in excellent condition.

I need to raise some cash so have advertised it on ebay.

I'm unsure of it's value and would not liketo sell it way below it's value.

Does anyone know any information that may be of some use? If so it would be gratefully recieved.

Cheers.

Ernie

Ernie,

Try this link. It's for a '78 360/12WB, but nearly identicle to the one you describe.

http://www.gbase.com/Stores/Gear/GearDe ... tem=809505

That should give you a slight idea of what these are commanding.

Cheers!

Thanks for that. Quite pleasing, wish mine was of a similar age.

Cheers.

I actually think that asking price is inflated.

Actually, a few WB's have been showing up on eBay lately with pricing approaching and in one instance surpassng a C63, which I personally found hard to believe. I don't think you mentioned if yours is a 6 or 12. Do a search of "completed auctions" and you should get a good idea where yours may end up.

The prices in the UK are probably higher than you'll find in the US.

....and yes, the pbase listing sure does look like it has the bridge installed backwards. Weird.

If you want to take a look at some photo's of mine then there are 6 on ebay.co.uk It's advertised as Rickenbacker 360 WB 6-String.

I'm seriously considering pulling it off the auction and flogging one of my Gibsons instead.

Dunno, it's like selling a child when you sell a guitar. Not a good experience.

I saw you pulled it back from eBay. Wise move!
(I've been drooling over it for a couple of days though.) Maybe I should download the pictures of it and use them as screen savers. :-)

It's a funny story that goes with this guitar and how / when i purchased it.

I bought it via Mail Order from a company advertising in a magazine. It was advertised as a Pete Townshend Rickenbacker. At the time i didn't know what a Pete Townshend Rickenbacker looked like, all i knew was that i wanted a Rickenbacker and all i was listening to at the time were timeless classics by The Who.

Anyway, this guitar turned up and i didn't think anything of it, especially as i had my shiny new Rickenbacker. It was years later that i actually learned about RIC model numbers etc.

Although i didn't recieve the Pete Townshend Ric, I DID recieve the Pete Townshend Certificate. So there is someone out there (who may read this) that has got a Pete Townshend Ric with No Certificate, It's No 186 of 250 produced.

Am a bit embarrased it took me so long to realise.

Nevermind, we can't all be blessed with brains now can we. :-\ LOL.
