Hey man I was only being a stupid wise guy. As long as you're happy and it makes you fell good that's all that really counts and you don't really have to justify it to anyone. It was nice of you to share your happiness with the rest of us.

God bless.

No worries! Thanks!

dude, that is awesome.. That guitar is yours and you should be able to do what you want with it.. I dont think I would use those colors.. maybe I would use a black/white/black pickguard with white knobs. Or maybe put some filtertrons in there.. Im certain I would paint the body or glue some pictures all over it.. THe point is have fun.. Make it yours.. Im getting my first rick tuesday, a black 330.. I doubt I would do any such modification.. Though I might get a used 330 and "customize it".. You have inspired me sir.. And all the naysayers have inspired me even more..

How does it sound?

LONG OVERDUE UPDATE.

I did a 2nd tour in Iraq in 20010 and when I got back Nov 2010 I didn't like the wood pickguard so I put the orginal back on. Not sure why I changed my mind but I did. Still not excited with the chrome look but it's better than the wood one I had put on.

The controlls were driving me nuts. I rewired it so that the vol & tone controls are paired like my Epi Les Paul Deluxe.

The neck vol is a push pull and it is wired as a phase switch.

The neck tone is a push pull and it coil splits the neck pickup.

The bridge tone is a push pull and it coil splits the bridge pickup.

It's my main guitar and I would never ever sell it!

The '59 Rickenbacker M12 amp has had some more work and is rock solid now.

I think I need a 2nd 650!!!

Thank you for your service. I'm jealous of your Ric, though.

I think your 650D looks just fine. We're all so used to seeing the smaller HB1s. Chrome pickup covers may also look good if they fit correctly. :)
