Hey all! I'm new here. I was going to write a whole big introductory thing explaining how I got into Rickenbackers, etc, but I thought I should just post my (growing) collection instead. Long story short, I've bought and sold a lot of guitars over the years looking for something that I really connected with (I write, tour, and record in a band, and own a studio in Savannah, GA) and finally found it in the 330. I've been obsessed with Rickenbackers since I was a kid (my favorite band is R.E.M., etc). I'm in love with these guitars! My friend Mitch Easter accurately described the 330 as the post punk Rickenbacker. I think that sums it up well aesthetically! Everything about it is everything I've wanted in a guitar.
Anyway, here's my current collection:
-2001 Fireglo
-2001 Desert Gold
-1989 Jetglo 330/12 (I sold a 620/12 to fund this one...really just fell in love with the 330)
I have a 2004 Blue Boy coming next week! I'm really excited about it. I also have a 4003 in my studio which I love, but I'm primarily a guitar player and the 330s are all I'll be touring with. I use a Jazz Chorus JC-40 reissue, which I absolutely adore. I toured with an AC15 for like 10 years but tried out the JC (I love The Cure, The Smiths, etc) and just loved how my 330s sounded with it. After so many years, I've finally found my thing. It feels great to finally have a rig that I feel 100% comfortable with and confident in on every level.
I'll keep y'all posted as my collection grows, and of course post a photo of my newest addition when it gets here!
