Post subject:  Which are the correct posts on horseshoe pickups?

I have a 1968 4001 with what I believe to be all stock parts. The pole pieces on the horseshoe pickup are slotted pan-head screws. However, I recently saw a bass on Ebay that had a horseshoe pickup with the bigger slotless bobbins that you see on the newer Ricki high gain bridge pickups. Which pole pieces are the legit ones? Or, is this another case of both being correct - just different pieces used at different times? Anybody know about this? (Webmaster, if you're listening in, I'd be interested in your feedback.)

Thanks.

Both are correct, just different eras.

Good to know, Mr. Hall. Would it be correct to say that the pan-head screws predate the bobbins, or vice-versa?
