I was just wondering and this has been probaly ask before so I apologize if I'm asking the same question, the basses from those catalogs that they took pictures of for the catolog are those in the Rickenbacker museum or where they sold to customers, the only reason why I was asking is I have some of those old catalogs they I have collected over the years and those where really nice basses and was just wondering what happened with those instruments they where the models for your older catalogs.

John has mentioned on another forum that the instruments were just grabbed from the production line to photograph so it would be impossible to know, with one exception that we know of for sure!

The one we know of for sure would be the red 4004Cii shown here in the Models section, right? That one's a beaut! I remember that thread from the rickresource forum.

The green 4004cii5 is Squire's.

It might be somewhat easier to find out who got the doubleneck models from the '80's catalog, if anyone noted the serial numbers. They wouldn't have just been pulled from the line since they were custom orders only.

That's one of the best looking basses I've ever seen.
