Hi, seeing as no-one's replied in the guitar forum, I'm asking here. Has anyone ever heard of bolting a bass pickup on say, a 620? As soon as I find a leftie one, I'm planning on fixing one in between the 2 other regular pickups. Is it a good idea or would I just ruin a perfectly good guitar. Or would you know? I'm just after a unique sound while keeping that familiar 620 jangle that I love.

I wouldn't put a high gain bass pickup on a guitar simply because it only has four pole pieces and I'd imagine you wouldn't get good response with six strings. It looks like the humbucking pickups are the same for guitar and bass, if I'm reading the drawings correctly.

the high gain guitar and high gain bass pickups are the same pickup except for the number of pole pieces and the screw attachment ... the hb1 pickups for guitar and bass are identical ... the toaster for guitar and bass are identical except for the screw attachment ...

however pickups from different eras are wound to different specs ... modern pickups have more windings than vintage pickups ...
