Hi there,
Im really digging my recently purchased Cheyenne ii and the deep sound from the hb pups.
Will these pups fit straight into my 2009 4003, or are there any other brands that will?
If so, has anyone out there made this conversion & what were the results.

Cheers

I have these pickups in my 2009 4003. It takes a little creativity because they are designed for wood screws, not machine screws like you'll need--but with a small drill bit you prep the pickup surrounds for the machine screws to pass through them.

I can do a pic tomorrow sometime--too busy today. Anyways, the cost was not awful compared to other pickup upgrades, and the sound is very much to my liking. The hassle? Well installing the pickups was not as easy as installing "regular" (machine screw) pickups but it just took some creative thinking and now it works fine.

I forgot, my wife took a picture of this bass a few weeks ago. (Not just because of the bass...) Here you go.

It's dead stock in the case of that bass. I do have one bass with a modified harness that uses Fender No-Loads for the tone controls, a 500k volume for the neck pickup and no volume control for the bridge pickup (but the knob functions for the push-pull cap).

That cat is dangerously close to your bass! I hope it is well-trained!

sweet.... The style, and tonal control of a 4003, with the humbuckers' sound. I've never had the chance to play a 4004c II, how does your bass' sound compare to a stock 4004c II?
