Hey Guys,

I just picked up a 1973 Rickenbacker bass (ME2125)a few weeks ago. The bass only has one pickup and dots on the fretboard. Does anyone have any info on this bass? I can't find one on the web that looks like this bass.

It looks just like my avatar pic but with a doted fretboard, only 1 pickup and two knobs.

What you'll have there is a model 4000, like this one http://www.rickenbacker.com/gallery_ima ... _year=1970

Nice :o)

Thanks Steve, that's my bass exactly (reverse the colors). I was starting to worry it was a fake or modified. I am the third owner of the bass, I paid $900 for it.

Congrats - that's a sweet price. Does it have the gap-tooth aluminum tailpiece? That would make it even sweeter...

Thanks guys. I was hoping this site would let me upload pics. I don't have place to put them.

Here's the link. If anyone has any thoughts on this 4000 bass (pro or con) I would like to hear them. Is the 4000 a good model? I love the bass however it is the only ric I have ever played.
