Has anyone tried making and using this device? It seems like a good idea!

I've never heard of that, and I've been on that site before. It does sound like a good idea. Since wouldn't make them like new it may extend the life of the strings enough to rotate them to a backup or practice bass.

Sounds like a pretty cool device. It seems like an empty coffee can would work just as good though, unless there's some reason the strings need to be straight.

I loved the line about keeping it away from children & drummers LOL.
