I have a chance to get one of them, but I would like to hear what you guys think before I make up my mind.

Thank you in advance.

Personally, I do not like the sanded horns. The C64 gets my vote!

With out a doubt the 4001c64 is the way to go.

Ditto. I like the finish.

Well, I asked my music store to order both and I'd choose one to buy (they're obviously a very accomodating bunch). I loved them both, but walked away with the C64S. One day I'll have the C64 as well, but I haven't regretted my decision. The C64S is great.

I've heard great comments about the sound and appearance of the Rick 4001C64 and the 4001C64S. No matter which one you choose, you're getting an awesome Rickenbacker bass!

Both.

If I had to choose one, the C64. Just because of the way it looks though.

Thank you for the responses. I am getting the C64 in Fireglo tomorrow.

My experience with 4003's and a vintage 4001 has been excellent.

Thank you again.

I picked the C64 over the C64S.

My thoughts were that the “S” was a replica of PMC bass of sorts, where I wanted just the stock "64" look and sound.

Being I have a 4001V63 I'd go for the C64S. The bass looks like it has a sweet vibe. Like the satin finish also!
