Just got my first ric a 4003fireglo. SWEET. Plays awesome. Sooo smooth. Only after reading the manual it says the up position of the switch is my bass pickup and I thought it was off position cause there's no sound. Am I missing something ?

Welcome to the forum. Be sure to plug into the Standard jack when using a regular instrument cable. Plugging a regular instrument cable into the Rick-O-Sound jack will result in only hearing the treble pickup. The Rick-O-Sound jack is meant to be used with a Rick-O-Sound box or similar stereo plug to two mono plug Y cable.

Hi and welcome. Yes Rickenbrother is probably right on this one, it's not hard to accidentally plug into the stereo jack. I'd say most have done it at some stage, myself included. The bridge pickup will appear not to be working that's the first clue. You can just enjoy it now.

Great news you have it right! If you ever decide you want to use the ROS jack and you want to play in stereo then we will gladly assist you with that as well.
