That Talon stand looks really nice... its compactness is a big plus in my book. Looks like it would be supportive and have a low center of gravity.

On the Shubb site, there is a whole FAQ section dedicated to the Talon. It mentions the low C of G as making it more stable than many stands, as well as the fact that it doesn't react with sensitive finishes, and other neat stuff. They are super compact, and have the fewest parts of any stand that I've ever seen - a grand total of two. It's fun to stomp them flat and then just put them back together again good as new!

Still, I don't get the consistent animosity towards drummers on a lot of bass forums. Guitarists, yes, they are indeed terrible human beings that should be dispensed with. (Kidding!) But drummers? Give the rhythm section some love bass players, you're in it after all! Now... BAD drummers... they are a different thing entirely.

I was just kidding in what I said about drummers. Drumming fascinates me and I'd love to be a drummer myself, and a good drummer is worth his/her weight in gold 8-) .

Even my suggestion was all in jest or an attempt at humour!

Yeah, they just like knocking things over sometimes. No doubt bassists have to be like peas in a pod with drummers, but ya gotta rib when the ribbing is good! It keeps the relationship healthy! As I am fond of saying to all the drummers I know, "So many drummers... so little time!"

One of my best friends in the world is a drummer, and he loves to say, "I really liked what you were trying to play today!"

I don't use stands, when not being played, said instrument is in it's case.

Agreed about using the case. I'll use a Hercules stand at home for a brief time. Stages are to busy of a place.
