I'm looking out for some modern hi-gains or HB-1s for my 4001, and saw this. The vendor is selling 2 pickups, one - no problems (hopefully I'll win it!) but this second pickup just doesn't quite seem right. Happy to be proved wrong!

It's normal practice for anyone selling pickups to show it connected to a multimeter so you can see that it actually works. I don't know why it has 2 separate wires rather than a single 2-core wire, were old Rics like that?

Looks like it's seen some action, personally I would need some proof as to it being in a serviceable condition.

Yeah - the two wires worry me too! I have had the misfortune of dismantling a hondo II clone once, and from (exceedingly dimming) memory, the pickup may have been similar!

It's entirely possible to replace the lead with new wires like that. On the other hand the chrome surround also looks fake.

It looks a little like a classic amplification rick aftermarket pickup
