I was wondering if any of you have experienced problems with the pickup selector.

I cannot keep the selector on the neck position for more than a few minutes, it "jumps back" to the middle position. I don't have the same problem when I select the bridge pickup.

Any thoughts?

I never had a problem with my 4003's, but it seems that this 4001 was not checked so thoroughly by the quality control person.

If you are a do it yer-self-er, remove pickguard, turn it over, and with some fiddling, bend very slightly, with needle nose pliers, one or both of the longest contacts on the switch. If you can tweek them to the precise angle, the switch should stay in place. It may take some experimenting to get it just right, but it's cheaper , and less bother than replacing and re soldering a new switch. Also, when replacing pickguard, make sure the toaster pickup wire is not touching the switch contacts. It's kind of tricky, but it CAN be done. Good luck
