I finally decided to get a Midnight Blue. It just looks good. A Jetglo was looking good, but this Midnight Blue was calling my name.

Congratulations. I'm a fan of Midnight blue it's a very dark blue and the pearl particles are subtle. The finish is very durable as well. Hope you enjoy it!

Thanks jbudweiser. I was playing it today, and it's smooth with the Nylon Tapewounds strung on it. I do like the Midnight Blue's deep metallic looking finish.

Sweet! I have an '86 in Midnightblue and it's absolutely killer with Swing 66 strings and the stereo rig I have it running through.

Mine has black hardware and binding. Does yours? I've seen it both ways.

Midnight Blue came STANDARD with black trim and hardware from its introduction in 1985 until 1999 when white/chrome became standard on that color. During that period, you could opt for "reverse trim" (for a surcharge) and get the alternate trim colors. RIC discontinued the black trim option in 2002.

I have a 2005 4003LH Metallic Midnight Blue with the super cool bleed through the white binding effect. From what I've been told this happened for two years only on this color. I think its awesome.

When I shopped for my bass I settled on Sam Ash. I called and asked what's available. He said MIDNIGHT BLUE. I live in NY, I was speaking to Tampa, Fla. That's where I got it and opening the case for the first time was like Christmas!

I regrettably sold the 4003 MB, but I have the 4003 Walnut in transit to me now.
