I wonder if a brand new bass offering could satisfy several customer requests?? John Hall has conmmented a number of times that a 4005 would require about 250,000 to tool up. I'm not a manufacturing guy so I would not disput his numbers. What if Ric introduces a 4004cii with the 4005 body. The body could be solid and use the walnut inner core with the maple sandwich like the 4004cii.4004 hardware would eliminate the tool cost on the 4005 bridge works. Or it could be hollow like the 4005. Any number of interesting pickup configurations could be offered...lets here some feedback from Ric and Ric bassist's!!
ps. the 4005 shape IS distintly Ric!! toster neck pickup..humbucker near the bridge?!? ect..
thanks! mitch

That would be cool, but sad to say, from what I've learned on the forums here I would have to say it's all highly unlikely.

You've learned well! We'd have to do an awful lot of catching up before we could consider anything new.

Well, thanks! And of course I love 4005's, just like everybody else but what can you do other than that which feasibility will allow...
