has anyone here rewired the pickups so that you can use both pickups? i mean, if i'm plugged into the rickosound jack all i can use is the bridge pup (which is what i currently do). if i'm in the other jack i can only use one pup or the other. i'd like to have the versatility of the middle switch allowing a blend of both pickups without going into two amps. i can't imagine ever using two amps despite how cool the idea is, so in the interest of functionality, i'd really like to get some input on my blending idea. as it is, i feel like i have to switch to a different bass druing certain songs, which can be a pain in the ass if not pretentious on stage depending on the evening's setlist. thanks.

The standard output jack will let you use both pickups at the same time, that is what the toggle switch in the middle position does. When using the Rick-O-Sound jack you need a stereo cord that splits the two pickups to separate outputs, it sounds like you are using a mono cable which is why you only get the bridge pickup when using the ROS jack.

when plugged into the standard jack the switch's middle position only activates the neck pup on mine. maybe someone else altered it before i got it and messed it up. as for the rickosound, i was under the impression that one had to use two amps to get the stereo split. i'll have to check my cables, but they're all nice gc cables (one of the only things gc is good for), so i assume (perhaps erroneously) they're stereo cables. any ideas?

You might have to bend the contact points on the jack a little, because a lot of cables are not as wide as they're supposed to be anymore.

My 4003 had the ric-o-sound start to act funny so I re-wired it with 2 mono outputs ... this can come in handy in a studio ...
