Simple question: I wanted to confirm with people more savvy than me if I can replace the broken bridge pickup on my Rickenbacker 4001v63 with a bridge pickup from a 4003 bass, without any electronic/compatibility issues. I'm mostly interested because stock 4001 pickups seem harder to come by, and considerably more expensive compared to 4003 pickups from what I've found online. Not to mention 4003 pickups being slightly more tonally desirable to my ears anyways.
Thanks to anyone who can answer this. Any advice and input is much appreciated.

Also, would eBay be my best bet? or Pickofthericks, Rickenbacker Boutique?

Cheers!

Yes, you can use a 4003 pickup. As far as the rest. What's perceived as vintage costs you more. I think the pole adjustability of the modern pickup is a great improvement. To each his own.

Ebay prices seem to be high these days, you're best bet would be POTR or the Boutique.

v63, PM me.

A good, vintage bridge hi-gain pickup can sound glorious! here is a recording of the one I have in my parts box. Very even string response, awesome 4001 tone, particularly when uncapped. 8-)
