 Post subject: '96 4001s - how?

the above is a link to what is supposedly a " '96 left-hand rickenbacker 4001s"

I thought they stopped making the 4001s by 1996? Does ayone have any ideas because I'm thinking about buying this thing.
Any information would be very helpful.

Well, the only way it could be a 4001 and be made in 1996 is if it was a 4001V63, which it clearly is not.

So if it was made in 1996, it's not a 4001, and if it's a 4001, it wasn't made in 1996.

It's just a 4003LH. If it was an "S" it'd have dot markers and no binding. If it was a 70's 4001 (no way that's a 60's), it'd have a skunk-stripe

Looks these guys didn't do their homework.
