Hey everyone,
Yesterday while I was at work someone broke into my home and stole my Rick 4003 Fireglow, ser# F9 7093.

They took it out of the case ( which really p*sses me off, since this bass was a 9 condition-wise ) so I can't say what condition it might be in, but there was a slight wear mark over the pickguard where your thumb would go.

This has been my main stage bass since I bought it brand new in July 1996. It was like my third arm. If found, I will do whatever it takes to get it back.

I've contacted every music/pawn shop within hundreds of miles of here, but you never know where these things will end up.

Luckily my 4005 and 350v63 were with me at work, but they also took my fretless Jazz Bass (teal green, w/1960 tone circuit and pickup covers ser # MZ 2026578), my wife's epiphone casino (turqoise ser # R01J0605) and my Gretsch Synchromatic 6-string bass (black w/bigsby ser # B02060103)

Any leads or any help whatsoever will be greatly appreciated.

Man thats bad news. I had one also stolen out of my car years ago in Mississippi after a gig went back in the club for a beer left my bass locked in the trunk stupid of me. I am on Ebay all the time looking for deals on Ricks. I will be watchin out for yours also. Good luck I hope you get them back.

That is absolutely awful. I know many people have put listings on ebay about stolen instruments and so on. Music stores, as I'm sure you know, must check used gear to see if it's been reported as stolen. I hope you get your gear back!

ZZAACCKK- It sounds as if it was someone who knew you and what you had in your home. Same thing happened to me many years ago. My first Rick12 was stolen and I'm sure I know who did it but it was never proven. The person had been a guest in our home. Good luck! -Dr.Phil

ZZAACCKK, sorry to hear about that. I hope you recover your Rick. I know the feeling. Several years ago, I had a Guild B301 stolen out of my teaching room

That really stinks.

I check Ebay every day for Rickenbacker 4001/4003's...If I see anything that resembles yours, you can be sure I'll let you know.

Zaaaack,
I'll note the s/n and keep my eyes peeled down here in DFW. Ricks are rare down here, so a 4003 FG will stick out like a tick on a hog's ass. Horse thievery and guitar stealing are still hangable offenses!
