Post subject:  AMP suggestions (Aguilar anybody?)

Hello all.

Well, ever since I received my 4003FL, I have been looking into new amps to go with my EAW cab (circa 1980). I bought an SWR workingman one-sixty when I was younger because I couldn't really afford anything else, and it just does not give me the power or sound that I need and want. I love SWR amps, and I have been looking at the 550x, but I have also been researching Aguilar, as well as the Sadowsky all tube, which is a little too expensive, but the Aguilar db 750 seems real nice. My cab sounds great, it's got a 15" woofer, with a huge horn, and three tweeters. Some day I will look into another cabinet addition, but as of right now I'm looking for some amp head suggestions. Thanks for the help in advance.

Peace to all.

I don't own one,but there are a couple of trace elliot amps that sound cool with power to spare. They might be worth checking out. They have something about "pre-amp" printed on the face. See if those will twirl yer beanie.

I've had my SWR Workingman's 2004 (200W) for a bit over a year now, & it's the first amp I really liked! Just enough power for a good stage sound, it's nice & growly when pushing the preamp a bit. If you can get a hold of two amps & use the ROS jack it'd be perfect.
BTW, I use a 4x10 & a 2x10 cab. I'm really sold on 10's now!
