I wish I knew why the TRC was homemade - I bought the bass 2 years ago and thought the price was good and didn't do a good enough job checking everything out before I bought it. I do hope the original TRC is not out there on, as you say a, RickenFaker.

Turtles...You could hear a number of explanations as to why the original TRC is not on your bass including, it broke, it was misplaced and one recently on this forum, it was destroyed beyond identification. We are yet to hear exactly how that happened. Since the seller of the bass did not disclose the use of the "inventive" TRC, one can only speculate why it was there.
Bottom line, your bass is a Rickenbacker. If someday you want to get a TRC, you'll have to invest a little time and money, but it's a search that can be accomplished.

RicandVox - wise words - bottom line for me is that it plays wonderfully - I'll keep an eye out for a replacement TRC but thanks to all the Forum participant's guidance and knowledge, will not be loosing any sleep over it. Thanks again.

If you wonder where your TRC ended up this might be the place:

That's it!!!! Grab it!! I'm not sure I can spare the £1,199. I'll make do with my photocopy version. Thanks for the tip.
