Hello everyone,
Could someone please let em know where I can find the serial number on my 4003, I don't think I am being stupid and missing the obvious. Its a 2006 (Jan) model - I have the serial number on the certificate thing that came in the case but I would be interested to see it on the bass itself.
Thanks Toby

Well yeah, you're right, not ALL Rics, but I meant the ones of more recent vintage. :-)

I really love it, its plays beautfully. I have removed the pickup cover - i found it a bit awkard to play with it on and dont really think changing my playing style is worth the effort.
I think after a little longer to get used to playing the Ric it will only start to feel better - the balance is different from my last bass - the Ric is more neck heavy, so it will take me a little while to get used to, but you just can't deny that sound!
How are you finding yours? Do you find it a bit tricky to play with the pickup cover on?
I was really impressed I got mine so quick - over here (London) most of the good music shops (only a few can actually get thier hands on Rics) say that you might have to wait up to 6 months for one and i got mine in a month and a half (big thanks to the Bass Centre at the house of guitars - Tom is the man there) and i got it for a lot less than i had seen it advertised elsewhere. Also, as it is a 2006 i am quite impressed that Ric made it, shipped it within the Us then it got sent over here, all in 3 and a half months. good going and thanks for such a great bass.

Yes, the 200 series guitars and 2000 series basses have serial numbers on the bolt-on plate on the back. "Bolt-on neck bass" you say? Yes, the 2020, 2030, 2050, and 2060 basses, along with their predecessors the 3000 and 3001 basses were bolt-on necks.
