That's been at the local for a few weeks.
The loverly missus thought that it would make a nice present (ain't she the best!?) and what else do they have but a 4003MB that came in on Thursday!
Now there's a dilemma if I've ever seen one.

Played one then the other then switched back and forth. There were some differences as the MB seemed a bit lighter and the neck on the BB was a bit chunkier.

Decisions, decisions.

After serious deliberations I came home with a spankin' new 4003MB that is sooo nice I can hardly stand it.

So if you're lookin' for a 4003BB it's still there and although it's been played a bit (by me) it's still the coolest axe in the place.

Montezuma Brown? Always a good decision.

Blue Boys are funky but for a truly classic color of the year the MB wins hands down.

Great choice, I would have picked the Monty Brown also. They are beautiful. Congrats on the new 4003.

The Blue Burst is truly awesome and would look great on stage but it is just a bit flashy for me and I've always been a sunburst fan. Although I might add that it's the one I was going to buy but that MB, boy!

BTW. Thanks you guys for making such totally wonderful basses that anyone would be truly pleased to have either of them (heck if I thought I could get away with it I'd buy the Blueburst still :-) ...

It's at Grayson's in Montrose BTW. Please help save my marriage and go but it!

When I bought my 4003 (Fireglo), the store had 2 Rickenbacker 4003 basses in stock. The FG and a Monty Brown. I sometimes wonder if I should have gotten the MB instead. The MB had a chunkier neck than the FG but was absolutely beautiful.
Nah, I just don't think you can beat Fireglo.

.......but I am biased. 8^)

I have a Monty brown 4004cii. Gorgeous bass/colour. I notice it doesnt photo well though. Pics do it no justice.
Mine ended up almost with a quilt style top too. Sometimes it really stands out when i can get a good angle on it with the camera.

I also thought you meant Blue Boy. Monty Brown and Blue Burst...much tougher choice.

Where in LA is there a music shop with Rick basses in stock? I haven't seen one in a store since Mars Music went out of business.

Grayson's in Montrose (above Glendale) has both the BBR and an FG hanging on the wall. Ken will give you a great deal too.
