Webmaster - Great idea to split apart basses and guitars!

Just wondering....who else here is a member of the "4005 club"? :)

Me? I own three of them - two from '67 and one from '69.

Jim, since you have three, you could let me have one. Then I can be a member also. ;-)

Which still leaves another one for me. Cool. Thanks, Jim!

Let's see- I have two 4 stringers and one 8-stringers. Guess I'm in this club, huh?

Nah, sorry guys....I'm gonna hang on to mine! ;P

Mr. Hall - uh, yeah, I'd say you definitely qualify...a 4005/8 potatohead....now, that's just unfair! But hey, you're Da Big Ric Cheese, so you GOTTA have at LEAST one of each - a 4 stringer, a 6 stringer, and an 8 stringer! Speaking of which, do you have a 4005/6?? Do you know whatever became of the 4005 5-string bass referenced in Richard Smith's book?

What would I expect to pay to get a 4005 (more recent model;any color; excellent codition). I guess what I'm really asking is this: What $ would it take to get a 4005 in excellent shape. Sometimes being willing to pay a higher than average amount may help in getting "someone" to part with one!?! Then again, maybe not.

thanks!

Right now, I own a '65 4005 that was refinned/restored by RIC in Blue Boy. A stunner. I have owned a '68 4005 BG and a '67 4005 WB MG. Cool basses. Wish that I had kept the other two. :-(

Just a note, I don't have a 4005 but it is a great guitar!!!! My thoughts are in agreement with Basstard, keep the guitar and throw out the wife. You can always get another wife BUT you may never get another "Ric".!!!!!

My wife had me sell a guitar once and it sure wasn't the Ric that went. Was a P bass, (didn't like it anyway) and well since all I have left are Rics Ummmmm I guesss she will go next. So guess I could send her your way Basstard if it ever comes up??!!??

LOLOLOL naww woundn't do that to ya

Later,
