How about trying to get a rough idea how many people in the Forums would shell out for one. Then you'll have a rough idea of the potential market. Come on Sir John. Make me one!!!

Part of the club.
I have a '65 Fireglow EK###. Best bass I have ever played.
But it has an unusual placement of the bridge pickup. It's not right against the bridge, but up towards the middle where it would be on a 4001 or 4003. I haven't seen another with the bridge pickup like this. Am I the only one?
Also the tuners are "backwards" geared (compared to the way they are now) does anyone know when they started using "regular" geared tuners?

One '67 FG and one '67WB FG(refin)

Love 'em both

....and I'd buy two reissues in a heartbeat, toasters or hi-gains, IF they were ever offered again.

Did you get that from Gary's Guitars? I think I saw pics of it on his site.

Actually I bought it from a collector here in Sacramento about 4 or 5 years ago. I didn't think the pickup configuration was unusual at the time, but since then I've never seen another like it. Maybe Gary's had one that was similar.

Small potential market, high cost to produce.
How well did it sell many years ago?

Hello, my name is Marc, and I am a new member to the club. While the admission fee was quite high, it was well worth it.

It's a 1967 in Fireglo with nary a scratch for a bass that old. All original down to the case, if it had the bridge cover, it'd be complete

Hey Marc. Is the bridge cover a big thing? I took it off mine years ago but still have it. Worth keeping? Seemed to get in the way when I was playing...

I would hold onto it. Not sure how valuable the piece is, but it certainly adds overall value to the instrument that has it.
