I really want to change out the bartolinis currently installed on my 76' 4001 with rickenbacker bass p/us. I would love to find some actually removed from a 70's bass. Are there any sites, besides Ebay that sell old p/us for ricky basses. I discount ebay because old pickups are hardly ever offered for sale. Any help from the rickoexperts would be greatly appreciated.

You might get lucky and someone will have a set for sale. In my opinion, you are definitely going to make an improvement in the sound of your 4001 by installing RIC pickups in it.
I can appreciate why you would want to install a set of 4001 pickups to make it to sound like it used to, but if you can't find a set, you might want to consider installing a set of new 4003 pickups. The new pickups have much more output than an old set of 4001 pickups.

By installing brand new rick p/u's would I be affecting the value of my 76' 4001 bass? If I did go with new replacement p/u's should I go with the vintage neck p/u or the standard 4003 replacement?

The standard 4003 replacement. Finding a '70s high-gain pickup set would be the perfect solution though.

Since the pickups on your bass have already been changed out once, you won't devalue it by reinstalling RIC pickups.
