bassmedic, individual adjustment of the polepieces is a feature that is available on pickups of RIC instruments that were made in the past several months. The newer pickups adjust with a hex key.

Yep, I have adjustable poles in my 4003, and according to the serial# secret ring decoder, mine was manufactured on the 23rd week of 2006. Just off the top of my head, that would have been late May to early June 2006.

Check out Joey's profile. It has a link to his site.
Invaluable info for anyone not familiar with setting up their RIC bass (or just plain forgetful people, like me).

Try and find yourself a local tech. with a lot of experience or who is experienced with Rics.- shouldn't cost ya more than fifty bucks for some adjustments-do it with a string change and intonation and save some money.
Note: Most techs. with some integrity do the intonation as a courtesy with other work.
