Howdy all! My first post here! I have a 92 4003FG that I really want to start playing again. I dont have a ton of cash lying around but I do want to get myself a decent sounding amp to try and get a Geddy or Squire sound. Is there a combo type amp out there for say under $400 that would give me something close. I was looking at the Ibanez 100 watt SW amps and they look pretty decent. Any advice would be most welcome.

I bought an Ashdown Mag series combo about a year ago for $429 but I think they are around $450 now. It's 307 watts with 2x10's. You could get the same amp in a 1x15 config for a little less money.

I later bought the Mag 4x10 cab to go with the 2x10's and I can go from very punchy to all out "shake the room" rumble

I absolutely recommend the Ampeg B-100R. They're great sounding amps, and have a surprising amount of power for its size. They usually go around $350 on eBay. Very complimentary to the Ricks, I use it for both my 4003 and 4005.

hello, I like hartke amps, but they do cost, Try Genz-Benz amps. For the money they are very good. Yorkville amps are not that bad, they are made in canada.

I'd also suggest you check out Ashdown. I have an ABM EVO 500 watt 2x10 combo, and that thing is a monster. Really great range of tones.

Try a few out, most music stores will let you have a go at them, then buy the one you like used, to fit into your budget. For me, Ampeg suits the RIC bass the best. Has a way of making the bass sound like a RIC should. I own the B2R. Love it.

IT may be hard to find ,or you may possibly find it on ebay ,but try a Sun. Chris Squire loved them in the day and so do I .
