Are you serious Dale? Cause if you are, wow.

I have actually been thinking about what I'm going to do over this coming summer. My line of thought drifts mainly to how I can avoid having to work as a janitor/pricer in a cold-storage warehouse in Richmond again (that's the job I wound up with last summer).

Which isn't to say I'd mind sweeping up in an instrument shop. That would be much more enjoyable.

Only for a good re-fin, though! Like the ones in the pictures on this forum. You have to specify.

I could use someone to sweep the shop and keep it tidy.
So how about it? My e-mail is dabrowns@ucsc.edu

Paul and Dale, I'd sure like to see some more photos of your restoration projects!

I could post pictures of my vintage Harley Davidson restorations if you like.

The RICs I'll leave to Paul, as he's aptly demonstrated his skill in the department on my 4001. Next up will be my 4003 I think, once I've got a 5th string put on it.

Can a 650d or 650s be refinished in a different color?
Can the oil based finish be painted over well?
Could a tinted oil based finish be applied ONTO the existing one?

Feel free NOT to tell me how or why I should leave it factory finished and redo the oil finish. Thanks, but I already realize this as an option.

Hi Littlehat,

I'm not a luthier or a refinisher. But just a thought for you.
You own very unique guitar which is very beautiful and unique in itself.

Why mess with a great thing?

Just set a goal and then consistenly keep adding some money to the cookie jar each week and then get yourself a second Ric in a different factor issued finish. (possibly a 330? I LOVE mine)

Something to think about?

Yes Colorados come in colors... BUT, they have slightly slimmer necks. I have a luthier friend who insists refinishing an oil finished instrument is no big deal if done right (isn't that always the case?).
