Could someone with Rickenbacker electronic knowledge please help me with this urgent technical question??

I would like to know the unmarked Integrated Circuit part #, which I would like to have replaced on my 1988 - 370/12- string Roger McGuinn Limited Edition Guitar. The guitar is number 236 and the serial number is I17078. The circuit board is being completely restored and this is the only part that the electronic specialists can not seem to identify for proper replacement.

You may contact me also at moonlighttimes@yahoo.com

I don't think your going to have much luck getting that replacement IC, Hankster. I seem to remember John Hall saying that the chip was a proprietary design created by a now former RIC employee who has since gone to the Fen^&* dark side, and the design, as well as all the spare chips, are gone. I have seen at least one E1 circuit assembly from a parted-out 370/12RM casualty for sale of ebay.

It wasn't proprietary but rather a somewhat specialized compander chip from as small IC maker. In its time, it was very good for what it did.

Unfortunately, not only are stocks gone, so is the manufacturer. To my knowledge there are no pin-for-pin equivalents but certainly it's possible to use other . . . now better . . . chips to do the same thing.
