Does anyone know the correct hardware finish for early Rick tuners. I have a 75 model 360 and a 73 model 480, both have a bright and shiny finish on their tuners. I just bought a 74 model 480 and the tuners have a very mate or dull finish. Something wrong with my 74 model or did Rickenbacker change the finish on these years.

I think they most likely shined when new. The keys may just be oxidized from years of exposure. This is very common with all guitars.

Some metal polish and a lot ot patience will probably restore the matt ones to shiny. Good luck.
