Just completed yesterday...

It looks like RIC BBR in the photos, but in fact is a bit more aqua.

This arrived at my shop, last Fall in unplayable condition. Action was horrible, bridge was rusted solid, no sustain (these were never big sustainers to begin with), cosmetically about a 4/10. Big patch of finish (JG) missing on the back, nasty hardware, fretboard worn, frets green and badly grooved, position markers dingy.

Here is one shot of the bridge in the condition in which it arrived:

Here is the bridge hardware, which was chucked and replaced with new stainless items:

Those two shots oughta give you an idea of the general condition of the entire instrument. I have pictures of the "BEFORE" on a disc somewhere, but let's look at these fresh "AFTER " pics.

Here are some detail shots. The brass pickup screws are "place holders" until the stainless items arrive on Monday. All hardware is polished stainless now--no more corrosion problems. The pickguard is a new one that I made. Unfortunately, the pickup covers are a bit worn, but the cost of replating the ABS proved to be prohibitive.

Knobs are new, tuners are original, believe it or not! They polished up real nice, as my Mom says when she sees me in a suit once or twice a year...

It goes back to Melissa sometime late next week, after I've had a couple more days to photgraph it and set it up to my satisfaction.

Paul, I don't have to tell you again how happy I am....

You have made another one of my dreams come true, and now nobody has to hear me sighing and whining about wanting a Blueburst, LOL!

You rock, Mister Jingle-Jangle! :)

Another brilliant example of your craftmanship, Paul. Congratulations, Melissa!!

BTW, what does the small switch adjacent to the pickup selector switch do?

Thanks, Aitch.... It's a phase-reversal switch, which was a standard feature on this model. I think the 481 is the only Ric that has ever had that feature.
