This is more or less directed to John Hall because he is A: the CEO of Rickenbacker and knows more than anybody else and B: He is a confessed fan of the 3000 series bass. I've just recently acquired a 3001 that is in pretty bad shape that I am working on restoring. My question is about the wiring. My 3001 was owned by some idiot that decided to drop in some no-name crappy MM style humbucker. That wouldn't have been a problem except for the fact that he added some kind of coil-tap switch. (All it does is turn the pickup on and off for all I can hear.) I want to use the original "3001" wiring, but with an HB1 (humbucker) pickup. Will the schematic that is available online work with an HB1? Also, this is beside the point, but what kind of material should I use to fill in the routing that my baby's former owner did? (I was thinking some kind of resin but I don't really know.)

With the HB1, use 500K ohm volume pots.
