I'm going to be much more careful with it this time around, as I have essentially a new bass. I played the bass VERY hard for many, many years and thousands of gigs. What was weird, was as the older the guitar got, the once black finish began to turn a strange grey-green, and the conversion varnish clear coat began to peel off in quarter sized sheets. Maybe it was from the dry So. Calif. climate.
