 Post subject: pickup height

Sadly, 25 yrs ago I replaced my stock p/u's with Bartolini replacement p/u,s. But I digress. After having my bass setup at the local luthier my p/up,s are, what I deem, very far from the strings. Oh Rickenbrothers, can someone give me a distance that my p/up's should be away from the strings. Hope this isn't too dumb a question. For reference, I play with a pick>
