Hi,
I have a black (7) screw hole tail piece but I want to change to a chrome one.The new bass tail pieces offered at Rickenbacker appear to only have (5) screw holes. Does anyone know if the new chrome tail piece will fit my 1987 4003s with (7) holes? I would like to swap my black tail piece for a chrome one with (7) holes if possible...or I will sell my black one. I just don't want to chance any tail lift with the (5) screw hole tail piece.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks!
P.S. I NEVER had any tail lift problem with the (7) screw hole tail piece. I just prefer chrome hardware instead of black.

The 5 screw tailpiece will fit just fine.

Unless you are very careful about the tension of the strings you put on it,The 5 screw tailpiece may very well "Lift" eventually. When I replace the tailpiece on my 4001 I plan on drilling two more holes in it. You can read more about this in "just basses" under one of the "tailpiece" threads.
