I really don't know.
But, I do know "the Jazzbo" is an extremely involved super labor intense guitar to make. Lots and lots of carving from solid wood goes into it.
Totally unique in their own way. ...
Almost as rare as the Hope diamond. Paul W. made one (with John Hall's blessing) and posted many pics of it while he built.

The search engine is your friend. There are other threads on this forum that talk about Jingle Jangle making acoustic guitars, including some fantastic pictures of some of the various instruments he has made.
If I remember correctly, the parts for making the acoustics were personally delivered by Mr. JH himself.

I believe they stopped making them as they could not find enough skilled luthiers to do the task. The cost of living in the area where the plant is was also a factor in attracting anyone from the small pool that may qualify to make such high-end guitars.

Ditto to the above post, plus the order production backlog of electric guitars required some pragmatic shifting of production resources (I believe).
It's my understsnding that the Ric acoustic line "may" begin again at some undefined unknown future date.
-In the meanwhile, Paul W.has been authorized to produce fully legitmate authentic Ric acoustics using much of the Ric factory tooling.
No,they are not inexpensive but, I've never heard of anyone being close to being disappointed once getting one.

Yeah, ya certainly don't see too many of the acoustics around. The only time recently I saw anyone play one was Kenny, when he opened up for my original band about a year ago.
They do sound as cool as they look, too.
