Yeah so many have lost their lives in the desperate search for a rickenbacker.
And if you are a lefty uuurrrggggghhhhh.
I've been trying to save for a Rickenbacker since 2001. I often wonder if I'll get into an accident and die before I get one.
Such a pleasant post, isn't it?
Okay, that's coming up on six years. If you are serious, then you must focus, my friend:
Given the wait time between ordering a new Rick and its delivery date, you should be able(so long as you are gainfully employed) to order a Ric, put down the deposit, and make payments to the dealer/save up by the time your guitar is ready, which appears to be up to two years for some models, but I'm not sure. Given that you are ordering a LH model, you should be afforded an even longer time to make payments/hide the $ under your mattress.
There is also the option of plastic, unless you've wrecked that option in the past. I don't carry balances my self, but there are those who do.
When I was just starting out playing music and bagging groceries at the local supermarket, I used to relate any possible and non-essential outing/expense in terms of how much gear I could buy with the $ that the outing/expense would cost me, with the result that I forsook many a ski trip(that's the cost of a Fender Twin or a new guitar), or other outing, et cetera, and was able to save. I also worked a lot of weekends and hours nobody else wanted to. So I suppose I was both earning $ and saving myself some $ by working all of those Saturday night date nights....
